Correspondence, orders, and receipts of vouchers on account, 1779-1864.

This series contains correspondence, orders, and receipts for expenditures made by the state concerning a variety of temporary accounts. The subjects of the expenditures range from trees planted in Capitol Square to the Lexington Arsenal and the Virginia Manufactory of Arms. There also is material regarding the revolutionary war and the War of 1812, contacts with Indian tribes, militia fines, and reimbursements for overpayments of taxes.
